Situated on the most Eastern point of Australia at the start of the Great Barrier Reef is the historic town of Seventeen Seventy, the birthplace of Queensland. 1770 is located on the coast between Bundaberg and Gladstone, approximately six hours' drive north of Brisbane. 1770 is unspoilt and secluded. Little change since Lieutenant James Cook first landed on 24th May 1770. The town is surrounded by:
